Causes of the War- The War of 1812 was caused by several things. The British were hijacking American ships and, although they had been beaten in the American Revolution, still didn't take the United States seriously. There were also some British laws that aggravated Americans. The War of 1812 may well have been called the War of Faulty Communication! Two days before war was declared, the British government repealed the laws that aggravated the Americans.

oh haha i had to save before i could say. it lasted until 1815. actually it technacially ended on like december 30 1814 or something but some of the soldiers on both sides didn't know it ended until like three months later.
