I think this site was very useful. Had a lot of information shown in an organized way and it is easy to navigate through. The information looks believable and worked well on my computer. I hardly saw any ads and the ads that were on the site didn't pop up or anything. I learned a lot from this website and I think it's awesome!

What is Karate?
-A martial art that originated in Japan.
-It teacher self-defense.
-"Karate" means "Empty Hand" It has been given this name due to the use of rapid hand and leg moves.
-Basic Karate:
Kata: A series of moves.
Kumite: Known as "sparring"
Kihon: This literally is basics or fundamentals in karate.
Substyles of Karate:
Different styles of Karate have developed over time. Here are some:
- Budokan
- Goju-ryu
- Kenpo
- Kyokushinkai
- Shito-ryu
- Shorin-ryu
- Shotokan
- Uechi-ryu
- Wado-ryu
Some Moves (Kihon):
Stances:
Ready Stance (Hachi-dachi) - A stance where your feet are spread about shoulder width apart.
Horse Stance (Kiba-dachi) -(See figure 3) A stance where the feet are spread about two shoulder widths apart with the knees bent.

Front Stance (Zenkutsu-dachi) - A stance where one foot is back and the other is forward. The front knee is bent over the toe as shown in Figure 1.

Back Stance (Kokutsu-dachi) -(See Figure 2:) A stance where a foot is in front and one in back. The back leg is bent.

Blocks
Rising Block: A block where one arm is raised over the head and the elbow bends so that the forearm is protecting the head.
Inward Block: A block where the hand is raised to an ear on the same side, and the hand is then quickly moved inward to a position in front of the body.
Knife-Hand Block: (See Figure 6) A block usually associated with the back stance. An open hand reaches to the ear and comes down in front of the body(It may sometimes be considered as an attack).

Downward Block: (See Figure 4) A block where the hand is moved down to a position above the legs (explaining the name "downward block).

Attacks/Kicks
Front Punch: (See Figure 5) An attack where the fist moves from the side of the belt to the front of the body.

Front-Snap Kick: (See Figure 7) A kick to the front that quickly snaps back.

Roundhouse Kick: (See Figure 8) A kick that comes around from the side.
